Costa Rica Yacht Sales and Yachtshare were started in 1999 by Eric and Heidi Landon. With the arrival of the first boats to Costa Rica it became apparent that with a lack of technical service and spare parts it would be difficult to provide the boating experience that they wanted to their clients. In 2002, with the help of his daughter, Angela, they started CR Marine Supply, a business that would provide spare parts and technical service with priority given to clients that had purchased boats from Costa Rica Yacht Sales. Now with full vertical integration, the Landon’s could not only sell boats but control the after sales experience by ensuring the proper spare parts, supplies and technical service were available.


Angela, one of Eric’s daughters joined the company in its early stages after graduating from College in Vancouver, BC, with a degree in Business Administration and together they started CR Marine Supply – a ship’s store and technical service company giving the family business vertical integration. With the extra help from Angela, not only could they sell boats but stock and service them too. Thomas, Eric’s eldest son left his aviation career in Asia to take over for Angela.


Landon Marine Group was created as a parent company that oversees all of the marine business created. Thomas, educated in business administration and aviation, brings a structured approach to running and maintaining boats improving both the dealership and marine service business. Fine tuning the business already in place and focusing on broadening products and services offered have been his focus as well as expanding into other markets within Costa Rica as new marinas are developed and industry expands. By keeping this a family operation, the Landons have been able to maintain core values of doing the right thing, which has created a loyal following.
