President's Message

I retired as a Boeing 747-400 Captain after 35 years in the aviation industry. My background in aviation applies well to the boating industry. There is only one way to fix a problem; the correct way. Previously, repairs were made by local untrained “experts”, which led to disaster. Most had never seen a new boat or the complicated electronic systems they contained. I have always felt the most important part of owning a boat is having a strong service department willing to look after the problems as they arise and be accountable for their work. We have achieved this with taking time to hire and train good technicians. No one will ever buy a second boat from you if you do not take care of them in their first boat.

My daughter Angela graduated from Business Administration and joined the company in Costa Rica to operate the business. After getting her feet wet in the boating industry, and learning what makes them tick, we took a huge step and opened an office in Panama. Angela manages this office and we are strategically located in the soon to be opened Marina in Amador called Brisas de Amador.

My son Thomas joined the company in 2007 in Costa Rica and has taken the reins and allowed me to slow down a bit and enjoy boating, golf and leisure time a bit more. We are looking at expanding to service the upcoming Marinas in Costa Rica in the near future.

I promise you this; working with The Landon Marine Group, you are working with people who care. Welcome aboard.

Eric Landon - President
Landon Marine Group
